10 Ways To Get The Perfect Finish On Your Crochet Afghan

As I mentioned in the previous post '10 Different Ways to Join Granny Squares' I like to plan ahead with my blankets/afghans. I always have an idea in my head how I would like it to end up and generally they come together pretty well.

Today I thought I could do a roundup of 10 different crochet borders. I hope this will help you plan the end result you would like for your afghan (if that is what you are making with your granny squares from the CAL)

Small Dog Crochet Jumper

Brrrr it is starting to get cold here in the mornings. Nika looked like she needed a jumper to wear so I decided to make her one. She is a mini dog, about the size of a chiwawa.

Women's Slippers

This is a great pattern for a light weight slipper. The pattern is easily adjusted to fit any size foot. Simply finish the front of the slipper then work in rows to get the length needed.

Baby Hat

My neighbor asked if I could make a hat and booties set for her sister who has a baby on the way. Not knowing the sex was hard but this is what I came up with. The ribbing makes it a stretchy hat so should fit a newborn for awhile. The ribbing for this hat was inspired by Busting Stitches Ribbed Hat  So if you are looking for a hat with single ribbing instead of double head over there :) She also has bigger sizes available.

Free Crochet Lacy Bolero

I wanted to make a bolero for my daughter for the cold mornings we have been having. They are not cold enough for a jersey but a lacy bolero is perfect. She was sleeping when I made it and sadly this turned out an inch to small but that just means I get to design another one and I already have an idea of what I would like to do.

Valentines Puppy Hat

I made the Kitty Hat and I thought why not a puppy for the boys. Of course this could also be done in a variety of different colour's and will also work for a girl. This free pattern is written in child size and toddler size but you could also find another beanie pattern and add the ears etc. I have included instructions for spirals as well as the ties. You could also add braids but personally I hate the time they take and I think these look just as cute.
