Te Puke A & P Show

So today was the day I had been waiting for all year. I dropped my blanket off last night for judging. Woke up this morning and couldn't wait to see how I had placed. Had to wait until 10 before I got the text saying I had won in my class, blanket/rug. There were 6 different classes all together.

  • Table Centre
  • Any article with edging. (Edging only to be judged)
  • Baby Shawl
  • Matinee jacket, 3-4 ply
  • Any article in crochet
  • Rug/blanket
So I ended up winning $4, for it being my first time entering and first time making a blanket I thought that was pretty awesome. They also have a Silver Tray which was what I was aiming to win but because it was my first year I was unaware that it went on a points system and I would have had to win a few prizes in each class.

So I am aiming higher for next years show. Everything you enter must have been made within the 12 months leading up to the show. I know what I need to do to get it now and I have already been looking at patterns.

Here are some photo's from the day....

Truck, does it look familiar? Look up :)

It really was a great day all in all. The kids enjoyed it even though it was extremely hot. I can't wait until next year now.

P.S. if anyone has any free patterns they could recommend for any of the crochet classes listed above that would be great. A lot of work went into designing my Farm Blanket and this year I would love to make something's from already written patterns.
