Ballerina Slippers

My kids have a B day at daycare tomorrow so I needed to quickly come up with some ballerina slippers for my daughter. She is 18 months and wears a size 6-7 NZ toddler shoe. These fit her perfectly.

Materials

5.0 mm hook
Worsted weight yarn

Ribbon - I used 1.5 metres, cut in half so 75 cm
Scissors

Yarn needle

Tape Measure

Size

18 months – 2 years

Foot length: 5 inches

DO NOT JOIN, MARK EACH ROUND WITH A STITCH MARKER.

Round 1: Ch 11, work 2 sc into the 2nd chain from the hook. Sc in next 5 stitches. Hdc in next 2 stitches, 2 dc in next. 6 dc in last ch. Now working along the other side of the chain. 2 dc in next stitch, hdc in next 2 stitches. Sc in next 5 stitches. 2 sc into the last ch. (28 stitches)

Round 2: 2 sc into the first stitch, 2 sc into next stitch, sc in next 8. 2 sc in next stitch, sc in next, 2 sc in next 4 stitches. Sc in next stitch, 2 sc in next. sc in next 8. 2 sc into each of the last 2 stitches.. (38 sts)

Round 3: hdc in next 2 stitches, 2 hdc into the next stitch. sc in next 13 stitches. Put 2 hdc into the next 2 stitches. hdc in the next 2 stitches. Put 2 hdc into the next 2 stitches. sc in the next 13 stitches. 2 hdc into the next stitch. hdc in next 2 stitches. (44)

Sides:

Round 4: Join to first hdc with a sl st, working in back loop only. Ch 1, sc in each stitch around. (44)

Now back working in both loops,

Round 5: Ch 1, sc in same stitch as ch 1 and around. Join with a slip stitch.  (44)

Round 6: ch 1, sc around, join with a slip stitch, ch 1, (44)

Round 7: Sc in same stitch as ch 1, sc2tog, sc in next 9. Hdc in next stitch,

dc2tog 9 times. Hdc in next stitch,  sc in next 9. Sc2tog, sc 1. Join to top of first sc with a slip stitch.  (33)

Round 8: Ch 1, sc in same st as ch 1, sc in next 10, hdc2tog 6 times, sc in next 10, Join first sc with a slip stitch (27)

Round 9: Ch 1, sc in same st as ch 1, sc in next 11, sc2tog 3 times, sc in next 10. Join to first sc with a sl st.

First ribbon loop:

Mark middle stitch, sl st across 3 stitches.

Row 1: Ch 2, hdc in next 3 st. (4 hdc)

Row 2-3: Ch 2, turn. Hdc in next 3 st. (hdc)

Finish off and fold over into inside of shoe. Sew down leaving a loop to thread ribbon through.

Second ribbon loop:

Count 6 stitches from stitch marker in the middle of the back of the bootie. Join yarn in the 6^th stitch. Working back towards the marker.

Row 1: Ch 2, hdc in next 3 st. (4 hdc)

Row 2-3: Ch 2, turn. Hdc in next 3 st. (hdc)

Finish off and fold over into inside of shoe. Sew down leaving a loop to thread ribbon through.
