Toe Pads (make 3)
Starting with a magic circle,
Round 1: Ch 2, 7 hdc into circle. Join to top of ch 2 with a sl st. Finish off leaving a tail for sewing.
Large Pad
Starting with a magic circle,
Round 1: Ch 2, 2 hdc, 4 dc, 2 hdc, 4 dc into circle. Join to top of ch 2 with a sl st. Finish off leaving a tail for sewing.
Weave in all ends not needed for sewing, sew pads to base following picture. Stretch the large pad when sewing to give it more of an oval shape.
Now attach applique to your chosen item. Personally I think a pair of these would look cute on a hat or even an Easter basket.
I turned mine into a Lucky Rabbit Foot by making 2 base pieces. I then sewed them together (RS together, WS facing out) Leave enough of a gap to turn it the right side out. I then stuffed it and finished sewing them together and attached a key chain. I can't wait to see what you make with yours.

This is so creative: lucky rabbit foot where no animals were harmed- I love it, and thanks so much for sharing the pattern.
ReplyDeleteThis pattern is adorable and I'm looking forward to trying it out! But don't rabbits have four main toes instead of three? I'm a (k)nitpicker though :)
ReplyDeleteHi there, sorry I have no idea. I just went from the applique picture I found.
DeleteAnd four years later I see thos lovely pattern and indeed, a rabbit has four toes....;-)))))
DeleteI used fun fur for mine. It turned out so cute! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the cutest patterns I've ever seen, but, being a perfectionist, it's off a stitch. Rnd 2 should read, 2 hdc next st, hdc next "7" , 5 dc next st, sc next 2, 5 dc next st, sc next 2, 5 dc next st, hdc next "9", 2hdc in last st. This centers the middle toe perfectly. Thanks so much for this pattern!!!
