To make this square 8 inches, I did round 9 with dc instead of sc.

To make this square 8 inches,
Round 6: Join yarn in any corner sp, *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) into corner space, ch 1, 3 dc between tr and dtr, ch 1, 3 dc in second dc, ch 1, 3 dc between dtr and tr, ch 1* repeat 3 times. Join with a sl st.
Round 7: Continue with the basic granny square pattern until square measures 8 inches.
