To make this square 8 inches I added 2 rounds of dc and omitted the sc round. I also couldn't get the picot border to look 'right' for me. But feel free to add it to yours.

DeleteI've having problems with the last granny square (#18). Where am I working in my flower? I made my base, but can't figure out how to dc the beginning loops of the flower. Help?

DeleteI struggled with this a little as well, so basically if you look at the first picture on page 3 you will be able to see where she put her dc (US sc). You are just sc around the corners then chaining and joining to the next sc with a sl st. I hope this helps.
