I finally finished this Crochet Dinosaur Blanket for my nephew. It was so much fun creating all the appliques. I even managed to get some discussions with my children going about the different dinosaurs.
I wanted to create this blanket in one piece so it worked up faster and I only wanted to include 5 appliques. I haven't written out a pattern for the main blanket just yet but I have put together a video tutorial and a chart.
You can find the video tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSsXBnGLG5s
And you can download your own chart here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4y4r47dahw1dvqs/Chart.docx?dl=0
I did one round of hdc for the blanket border using brown yarn. Simply place 3 sc in each corner to turn. I placed a hdc in each st and a hdc in the end of each row.
The completed blanket measures 69 inches in length and 45 inches in width with the border.
Gauge: 13 hdc x 9 rows = 4 inches
Materials needed:
2 x 100 g balls of Dark Brown
2 x 100 g balls of White
2 x 100 g balls of Green
2 x 100 g balls of Light Brown
I used 4 Seasons Marvel which is an 8 ply yarn and has 309 yards (283 meters) per 100 g ball.
5.5 mm crochet hook
Yarn needle
You can purchase the complete set of Dinosaur Appliques here:
Or each applique can be purchased individually.
Thank you for the cute dinosaurs! Can't wait to try them out!
