I can't believe I finally got it done. It might have taken 8 months but it was well worth the end result. I was going for a queen size blanket but with my joining method it hangs over the side of my bed which is why the photo's were taken on the floor.
You can find the link to all 99, 8 inch squares HERE.
I joined using the ch method which you can find instructions for here http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/us/pattern.php?id=4478&lang=us
The border was made up of 4 rounds of hdc. Place 3 hdc into each corner to turn.
The last round was a follows: Ch 5 (counts as first hdc and ch 3), sl st into the 3rd ch from the hook (to make picot) hdc into the same stitch, *ch 1, skip 1 stitch, sc into the next st, ch 1, skip 1 stitch (hdc, ch 3, sl st into the 3rd ch from the hook, hdc) all into next stitch.* Repeat around. Join to top of first hdc (ch 2) with a sl st. Finish off.
Oh wow!! It's wonderfully gorgeous!! Very well done!!

double wow! good for you - it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWow, it looks amazing. I wanted to join this CAL, but unfortunately it was too far in progress.
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely gorgeous! What a work of art ♥
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe you've finished! I'm about 18 squares behind you, but since I only started in October, I've been crocheting like mad and forgetting to comment and thank you for your work.. :) I might be back to do it all over again, because my sister is getting jealous (read: Wants one for herself). I didn't get to join in on the weekly three-square thing because I was so late to the game, but I've been enjoying it all the same. Don't think I've ever put so much concentration into a project before, and my crocheting skills are better for it.
ReplyDeleteI'll add a pic of what I had about a month ago in case you want to see what you've inspired in a perfect stranger. :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/elledille/teppepaagulv_zpsfcd01449.jpg
Beautifully done!!!
