Joining blocks together:
There are many ways to join blocks together but for this blanket I wanted it to look girly and have a slightly open look about it so I searched for the best tutorial and found this http://carinascraftblog.wardi.dk/2009/06/granny-square-joining-tutorial.html
Border for entire blanket:
Using the same granny square pattern as the border for the blocks but going into each ch sp (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) into each corner. 3 dc, ch 1 in each ch space. I did 3 more rounds of light pink, 1 round of white, 1 round of dark pink. For the last round I did a double v stitch. A great tutorial for this can be found here:
I love that idea! Are you going to make more appliques for the Fairy blanket? and if so, about how many? I want to start making one soon. I have to come up with an idea as to how I'm going to do it though. That's why I'm asking.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, I see where you put the other Fairy's! Are you thinking of other things also? Gina
DeleteHi Gina,
DeleteThere will be 12 appliques in total, still 4 Fairies to come. This will be my 5th set of appliques. I am doing it similar to my Little Blossom's Blanket. If you look in the right column you will see the link to it.
I don't mean to be anonymous, I just don't know which other one to do...lol....My name is Gina
