Week seven of the Granny Square Crochet Along is a fun one. My favorite has to be the mitered granny square (number  19) If you click through the link you can see it used in a few different blankets.

I sponsored last weeks CAL and if you entered you were in to win a copy of one of my eBooks. Congrats to Chantelle Daigneault for grabbing this prize.

This weeks sponsor is Rachel from The Country Hooker. She has kindly donated a pattern from her Ravelry store. If you are our winner you can pick which one you would like. She has lots of fun designs, I would have a hard time choosing.

To enter all you have to do is post your completed squares on my Facebook page wall before 8 am on the 15/07/2014 New Zealand Standard Time. You can find more information about this Crochet Along here:

A little about this weeks sponsor....

Hi my name is Rachel, I'm a stay at home mom of 2 boys (15 and 10) I've been crocheting since I was a little girl. I started a business selling finished items online and at craft shows about 5 years ago. I wrote and listed my first crochet pattern a couple years ago but didn't go any farther with that then. This year I have written a few more so far and have plans to do more.

For this week only 8/7/2014 - 15/7/2014 you can get 20% off all patterns in her Ravelry Store using the code nana2.

Now for this weeks patterns:

The patterns for 20 and 21 were coming out too big for me so if you know that you are a loose crocheter I would suggest going down a hook size so you can make the entire square 8 inches without having to adjust the rows like me.

19th Granny Square

20th Granny Square

Instead of doing dc for the last row I used sc to get an 8 inch square. This photo was taken before I blocked the square. If you are looking for a tutorial on this Moogly has a good one here:

21st Granny Square

To make mine 8 inches on row 9 I changed the stitches as follows:

Ch 3, dc in next 4 st, *hdc in next 4, dc in next 2 st, hdc in next 8, dc in next 2 st, hdc in next 4, dc in next 6,* repeat around. Hdc in next 4, dc in next 2.
