1st Granny Square
I thought we could start with a basic granny square.
The pattern/awesome tutorial can be found here: http://bunnymummy-jacquie.blogspot.co.nz/2011/10/how-to-crochet-granny-square.html
I did 7 rounds with DK/Light Worsted Weight yarn and a 5mm hook to get an 8 inch square. My first 2 rounds measure 2 inches if you need to match gauge.
Make sure to weave in ends as you finish each square to avoid doing it all at the end.

I know it say's it is a 6 inch square but I found using a 5mm hook and after doing a round of white it measured 8 inches.

For the 4th-7th rounds continue with the basic granny square pattern as in the 1st granny square.
Now if you have noticed I am doing the last round of each granny square with white. This is going to be my border colour.

This is great if you want to get a head start.
